Design of control system for scaled wind turbine model

In this talk the wind turbine control system design was explained. First, a brief description of fully controlled scaled wind turbine model developed at Politecnico di Milano was given. Then the implementation of the whole model wind turbine control system, starting from low level controllers and ending with advanced control algorithms was explained. Finally, the wind tunnel experiments and the obtained the results were discussed.

Vlaho Petrović (1985) graduated at University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) in 2008, majoring in Control Systems. Since then, he has been working on FER and researching for his PhD. His research is focused on wind turbine control.
In 2012 he has spent six months at Politecnico di Milano developing control algorithms for model wind turbine and experimentally validating them in wind tunnel.
