The first colloquia under the auspices of the ACROSS project was held.
Colloquia details
Title
Lyapunov theory in analysis of partial differential equations
Speaker
Dr. sc. Mario Bukal
Date
18.07.2012.16:00 - 16:40
Location
Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, C-IX-02
The colloquia presented the state of the art analysis of nonlinear evolution equations which employs the so-called entropy production inequalities. They reflect the dissipation or stability property of certain functionals (entropies) along the sought solutions, and give rise to desired a priori estimates. These techniques resemble the Lyapunov stability theory for dynamical systems and the analogy between these two subjects was outlined.
