The Centre of Research Excellence for Advanced Cooperative Systems (ACROSS) and IEEE Croatia Section, Control Systems Chapter invite you to the research seminar

"Recursive Approach to Solving Problems from Systems and Control"

held by Prof. Han-Fu Chen from Key Laboratory of Systems and Control, Institute of Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The seminar will take place on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 starting at 10:00 in TCR at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing.

More about the speaker and the seminar can be found in the detailed news content.

Abstract

A recursive approach to solving problems arising from systems and control and other areas is presented. According to the proposed approach the problem under consideration is first transformed to seeking roots of some regression function. As can be shown, this can be done for a large class of problems from diverse areas. Then, a root-seeking algorithm called SAAWET together with its convergence theorem is presented, and SAAWET is applied to the problem under consideration. The final step is to prove convergence of the algorithm to the sought-for value, i.e., to prove the satisfaction of all conditions required for convergence of SAAWET. By such an approach a series of problems from systems and control and related areas have successfully been solved, but here we limit ourselves to demonstrate only two of them: identification of ARX systems and adaptive regulation of Hammerstein and Wiener systems. Simulation results are also provided which are consistent with the theoretical analysis.
